Another fabulous item that can be made using our Mini Charm packs.
This box basket is great for the bathroom sink, wardrobe, thread catching, gift giving... and so much more. Tell me, what would you do with it?
Measures 6" x 6" x 4.75"
Firstly lay out your squares as shown below. Keep in mind the direction of prints for when the bag sides flip up.
On the outside edges we have cut the Mini Charm squares in half (1.25" x 2.5") as there isn't enough for full squares.
Sew the squares into rows
Join the rows. You will want to make sure that seams are pressed to the outside edges where possible.
From the bag wadding we cut the following:
5.75" x 5.75" - 1
5.75" x 4.5" - 4
From the FQ lay your 'cross' on top and cut a matching shape for lining. Align the cross up along the side to keep as much fabric as possible for binding later on.
Flip the 'cross' over and glue the wadding to the backside, using the Sewline glue stick, leaving a small gap in between and 1/4" around the outside edges.
Flip the 'cross' back over and quilt the layers together.
Fold the points marked A together (right sides together) and sew from A to B
Repeat for all the corners
Leave the box, right sides OUT.
Do the same, matching A points and sewing A to B for the lining 'cross' too. Turn box to have the right side IN.
Place the lining inside the box and align the top edge. Bind using 2 1/2" strips cut from the remaining fabric from the FQ.
